Let's Take It Outside!!

Paintball FAQ

Q: What is paintball?

A: A paintball is a round, thin-skinned bovine gelatin capsule (at Xtion Paintball Park (XPB), we ensure that our supplier supply a HALAL paintball gelatin and fill for our customer) with colored liquid inside it. Paintballs are similar to large round vitamin capsules or bath oil beads. The fill inside paintballs is non-toxic, non-caustic, water-soluble and biodegradable. It rinses out of clothing and off skin with mild soap and water and they are even edible, although we don’t recommend it!

Q: Is paintball game safe?

A: Yes. Paintball has the lowest injury to participant ratio of any sport in which statistics are taken. Paintball in Malaysia (and everywhere else) is statistically a lot safer than ten pin bowling, golf and even table tennis. The most important safety precaution in the sport of paintball is the face mask or goggles. We require all participants to wear face mask system with ear protection and the chest protector also provided. All participants will be given a mandatory safety briefing prior. This briefing explains the important safety rules at the park, along with how to properly use the equipment and play the game.

Q: Does is hurt when hit by a paintball?

A: William Shatner (Star Trek Icon) quoted it best when he played at CPX Sports: “The sting of the paintball is part of the mystique of the paintball game. So, the kick of running and jumping, dodging the paintball goes right back to your childhood. And the competition of trying to make the points to win the overall thing is a rush.” So, while getting “marked” by a paintball might sting a little, the sensation is similar to getting snapped by a rubber band or when your mom pinched you and it will usually go away in a couple seconds.

Q: Can I bring and use my own equipment?

A: Yes, but we will inspect your equipment to make sure it meets tournament safety standards and XPB rules. All goggles must meet or exceed ASTM Standards and be unaltered. There can be no cracks in the lenses at all.

Paintball markers must be semi-automatic mode and capped at 15bps. We DO NOT allow full auto, double fire trigger systems, markers with ramping mode enabled, or burst mode. Any markers with full auto capability must be able to lock it down and not have the ability to quickly switch to full auto while on the field. If there is a question on if your marker can be used here, the XPB marshal will make it. The decision of the XPB marshal is FINAL.

Barrel socks/plug is required on all paintball markers.

All CO2 or High Pressure tanks must be in test date. High-pressure fiber wrap tanks may not have any cracks or fraying and can’t have any stickers, decals or other coverings on them.

Maximum velocity is 280 fps. Orange (or near to) coloured equipment (clothing, hopper, marker etc) are not recommended.

Q: Can I bring my own paintballs?

A: Strictly NO outside paintball. XPB field paint only. Any players found to be using off-field paint will be ejected from the park. No exceptions.

Q: How many players needed for a paintball game?

A: The ideal no. of participant is 10 players on each side. However minimum 6 players are acceptable for a session at XPB. If you do not have any friend to play the game join in our Mayhem Zone Walk-in session every Sunday, from 4pm till 6pm (upon availability).

Q: What should I wear?

A: We suggest you wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing that cover as much exposed skin as possible. Long sleeve T-shirts, long pants, and good running shoes with ankle support are suggested. Remember, we are outdoors so dress for it.

Q: What kind of safety precautions do you take?

A: The most important safety precaution in the sport of paintball is the face mask. We require all participants to wear full-face mask system with ear protection. All visitors to XPB are also given a safety briefing every time they visit our park. This briefing explains the important safety rules at the park, along with how to properly use the equipment and play the game. We also require guests to chronograph their markers before each game. This allows us to make sure no guests are exceeding the maximum velocity of 280 fps (feet per second) or are in full auto or burst mode.

Q: Can I bring my own food and/or beverage?

A: Yes. However we do have vending machine at site and catering services available (call for further details).
